Abstract : This study examines the evaluation of policy of the National Exam of Arabic subject in State Islamic Senior High School/Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) in Indonesia that is held every year. Madrasah is an islamic educational institution that has unique and different characters than public schools.   click here
One of those characters is the Arabic language lesson to help students to communicate in Arabic, both verbally and in writing. However, what happened instead is this policy causes Madrasah stuck in an effort to force the students to be able to achieve the passing grade, by focusing attention on the practice of estimated questions. Madrasah is no longer focusing on Arabic skills and its rules, or mastering the Arabic vocabularies (mufradat) and their meanings. This suggests a mismatch between what should happen (das sollen) and what has happened in reality (das sein). Keywords: Evaluation, National Exam of Arabic subject, State Islamic Senior High School (Madrasah Aliyah Negeri).

Abstract : The objective of this paper is to the analysis of dynamic voltage restorer with PI and fuzzy logic controllers for voltage Sag mitigation in the distribution system. Distribution system needs to be protected from voltage sags, dips & swells that adversely affect the reliability & quality of power supply at the utility end.  click here
These problems can be mitigated with voltage injection method using custom power device, Dynamic Voltage Restorer (DVR). Proportional Integral (PI) Controller and Fuzzy Logic (FL) Controller are the two controllers introduced in this paper for mitigation of voltage sag during abnormal conditions. The proposed DVR employs the classical Fourier Transform (FT) for sag/swell detection and quantification and a Fuzzy Logic based feedback controller which utilizes the error signal (difference between the reference voltage and actual measured load voltage) to control the triggering of the switches of an inverter using a Sinusoidal Pulse Width Modulation (SPWM) scheme. The proposed DVR utilizes the energy from available supply line feeders through a rectifier to feed the inverter. MATLAB/SIMULINK platform is used for the evaluation of the proposed DVR in the distribution system. Overall the DVR is improving the voltage quality as well as the reactive power demand during the uncharacteristic condition.Keywords-Dynamic voltage Restorer, Voltage sag, THD, PI with Fuzzy Logic Controller, Pulse Width Modulation.

Abstract : This paper deals with the analysis of single-phase inverter for DG systems requiring for power quality features, such as harmonic and reactive power compensation for grid-connected operation. Power electronic converters are commonly used for interfacing distributed generation (DG) systems to the electrical power network.    click here
The idea is to integrate the different DG unit functions with shunt active power filter capabilities. With this approach, the inverter controls the active power flow from the renewable energy source to the grid and also performs the nonlinear load current harmonic compensation by keeping the grid current almost sinusoidal. The control scheme employs a current reference generator based on sinusoidal signal integrator and instantaneous reactive power (IRP) theory together with a dedicated repetitive current controller. Keywords- Power quality, Active power, Reactive power, Distribution generation, Power electronic converters.

Abstract : : The analysis of active power filter for harmonic voltage resonance suppression in distribution system has been presented in this paper. Traditional active power filter (APF) can prevent harmonic current from injecting into the power system, but cannot damp harmonic propagation in distribution system whereas voltage detection can do.   click here
This paper proposes a compound control method of APF based on detection of load current and the harmonic voltage at the point of installation. In addition, based on the relationship between the rated volt-ampere of APF and the load volt-ampere, the conductance value could automatic adjustment. The objective of the shunt active filter is not only to compensate the harmonic but also to damp the harmonic. When the rated volt-ampere is a limit, the harmonic compensation is prior considered. The MATLAB/Simulation results are presented to validity and effectiveness of the shunt active filter equipped with the compound control. Keywords: Active power filter, Harmonic voltage, Distribution Generation, Compound control.
